skies of Chile
Northern Chile has the purest and clearest skies on the planet. That's why astronomers from around the world set up their telescopes in this area to observe constellations, planets, comets, satellites or any movement in the space. The "good" skies of Chile are related to special climatic conditions in the north. This is a very dry region and there are almost no clouds.
For example, the fourth Region of Coquimbo has 345 nights per year with a clear sky, making it ideal for observation. Also, running a telescope is very expensive.
